CPAexcel Courseware
1. Download and
save the latest version of CPAexcel. Content and software updates will be released
throughout the year. It is imperative that you have the latest version installed
on your computer.
2. Install CPAexcel on your computer.
If you are installing from a downloaded file, double-click the setup
file and follow the instructions. CPAexcel may be used on more than
one PC, however licenses are limited to one user.
3. Enter your serial number to unlock
all of the CPAexcel content. This is the case sensitive alpha-numeric
code you received via email when you purchased CPAexcel. You must be
connected to the internet when you do this for the first time. You will
be prompted by the program through this procedure.
4. Familiarize yourself with the CPAexcel
courseware and key benefits by completing your first study module (15
- 30 minutes to complete):
a. Launch CPAexcel and click on Study Course > Regulation.
b. Click on the +/- icon to the left of "Ethics and professional and
legal responsibilities" to expand/compact the Table of Contents.
c. Double click on Code of Professional Conduct. Read the study text. Select
the +/- icon to expand/compact the study text. Click the diamond beside each
study point once you have read it to mark your progress.
d. On the toolbar, select "PQ" to take the corresponding proficiency
quiz. Retake as necessary to build a 90% score.
e. On the toolbar, select "EQ" to take a test using past AICPA
exam questions. Retake as necessary to build a 90% score.
f. On the toolbar, click "FLASH" to review all examinable points
from this section.
Congratulations - you have just completed your first CPAexcel study
module!
5. Visit the CPAexcel
Message Center for:
a. Customer Support - post your questions to our support desk
and share study tips with other students.
b. Online Performance Reports - view your performance levels and how you compare
to other CPAexcel students.
CPAexcel Guided Seminar Students
The CPAexcel
Message Center is also where Guided Seminar students retrieve seminar
assignments and access discussion groups. Your assignments will be posted
online as well as sent to you by email. Each assignment follows the outline
in the Table of Contents in your courseware. You study the text and work
the problems off-line in the courseware installed on your computer. When
you have completed each assignment you go on-line to upload your study scores.
The Message Center is also the place where you post study-related questions
and where professors provide replies to your questions daily. Before your
first study session, please familiarize yourself with this system:

Message Center and enter your username and password. |

To retrieve your assignments: |

Click the Guided Seminar forum and select the topic
titled "Announcement: Assignment #1". |

b. |
Follow the instructions to complete your assignment. |

To post a content-related question to the seminar
professor: |

Click the Guided Seminar forum. |
| |
b. |
Click the "new topic " button and enter your question. |
| |
c. |
Within 24 hours, a response from the seminar professor will
be posted in the discussion group. |

To post a technical question to the CPAexcel support
staff: |

a. |
Click the forum titled "Support > Guided Seminars". |
| |
b. |
Click the "Post Reply" button and enter your question. |
| |
c. |
Within 1 business day, you will receive a response from our support
staff. |
